Good morning,

We departed Marchwood last night and are currently rounding Ushant to
head in to the Bay of Biscay.

Jackson seems to have settled in very well. He is spending a lot of his
time sleeping, even more than the crew!!

So far he has spent a night keeping the watchman company and assisting
him with his rounds. He's the first watchdog this ship has had.

Now we are at sea we'll see how his sea legs are. He's worked out how
to get over the door jams, although I think he could do with some climbing
gear to help him.

The crew are all making a fuss of him. Even the cook has relented with
his promise to have roast basset for christmas lunch.

We'll hopefully get the ship's camera working soon and be able to send
you some pictures of his voyage.

Thanks again for the hamper. We'll enjoy that on Christmas day.

Have a merry christmas and happy new year.

Best regards
Dave Guy
Master
