GJ's 'Going Away' card...

Gosh, my pals, they all clubbed together with their bonio money and got me a leaving card...

It makes a Basset feel quite overwhelmed.

I hope they might come to visit and meet all my new friends in the Falkland Islands.

Lots of love everyone,

Jackson (General)

oOo

Hi everyone out there in "Internet Land", as Meggie Moo would say.

We hope that you have had as much fun reading this FIRST PART of the 'General Jackson Tapes' as we have had recording them.

They WILL continue in the New Year ;-)

We would be delighted if you could take a few moments to 'sign' Jackson's card, by adding a comment to the bottom of this post (click on COMMENTS and scroll to the bottom of the dialog to add yours, then click the orange 'publish' button). We would be thrilled if you click 'Name' (instead of anonymous) to just add your initials and where you're from too.

Jackson made a special request, that if you have laughed out loud - let him know what your favourite episode was!

And as a final hope from Kerri and Brian - please consider buying an extra tin of pet food, and put it at the front of the shop for rescue animals.

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year

See ya, Big Fat Basset Puppy!
It has been a pleasure watching you grow, and eat things - any things - anythings-at-all.

Your detective work in the 'Case of the Missing Bowl' would put Sherlock Homes to shame.

Calm seas.

Safe journey little lad, we will miss you - give all my brothers a big Basset-style hello from me when you get down south, and keep my Dad out of mischief.

Love Kerrio (aka foster-mum)
P.S. I don't want this to go to your head or anything, but you are the best behaved pup we've ever had to stay.
P.P.S Don't chase the penguins - they peck.

Darling Jackson

I have so enjoyed reading your life story so far and am really really looking forward to meeting you in the flesh. I hope that Dad will bring you to the office when he has very important meetings and then you can keep me company in my office. I am very good a sharing my biscuits.

Dear Jackson,

Looking forward to welcoming you to the Falklands. Hope you have remembered to bring a hat and nose cream, as it is summer down here, and it can get very hot. We do have Christmas though, even we are in Summer! The hat should cover the ears too, as it is quite windy here at times, and you may take off like a helicopter if measures are not taken.

Think you may arrive at about the same time as a Member of The Royal Family!

Dear General Jackson:

Have a safe and pleasant trip to the Falklands. I am sure your life over there will be full of fun and adventure. I have enjoyed reading your stories and looking at all the pics of yours here. anything about you is so special and dearing.

Because it takes a long time to get to the islands, you will be a grown Basset by the time you get there. I know I will miss this BFBP very much....

I so look forward to seeing you and your cousin, Luka, doing stuff like surfing or fishing. I am sure there is a lot of things waiting for you to explore down there.

Anyway, do not forget us who love you and wait to hear about anything from you.

With lots of love.

How I have enjoyed the Adventures of General Jackson and look forward to new updates and news from the Falklands.

Impossible to pick a favourite entry, everyone has caused much giggling... and many have caused "awwwww" moments.

To name a few: the running pictures, the dance movie, the picture of you and your Dad in "Putty and Puppy Relationships", Jackson's exploits as a gardener, the chicken pictures in "Hunter/Gatherer" - see I told you they have all been great!

Have a happy, safe, calm journey Little Big Lad. It is been a pleasure sharing in your adventures so far. Enjoy your new home - a truely globetrotting Bassett.

Bye bye, General.

Ummmm, ummmm, Should you be 'indiscreet' in the Falklands, you can always send a little general back our way! A Generalette ! Imagine.

Lots of licks from Auntie Poppy and Uncle Lester.
